   Home > Program > FAQ

Q:

Can I study for my graduate degree while I’m in the fellows program?

A:

Yes. However, you must be available for a full time, 5 days a week internship. The fellowship includes placement, research and additional activities and is very demanding. You will be expected to give priority to your responsibilities as a fellow.

Q:

What are the entrance requirements for the program?

A:

You should have received at least a bachelor’s degree in economics, business, public policy or related field before your fellowship year begins. We give higher priority to students working toward their master’s or doctoral degrees. We value previous research experience and knowledge of quantitative research methods and software.

Q:

How do you select research topics?

A:

We match fellows with internships and research areas that coincide with the ongoing work of the Milken Institute Israel Center. Generally, your research project will address some issue related to economic development, entrepreneurial finance, financial reform or regional development.

On the application form you will be asked to choose from several general research areas. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to suggest a research topic. If you will suggest a topic you will need to provide a short research outline. You can see recent topics on the Publications link from the home page and at the Milken Institute Israel Center web site: www.milkeninstitute.org

Q:

What are the monthly stipend and other benefits?

A:

Fellows receive up to $2,000 a month for the 10 months of the program. They are also reimbursed for approved program-related expenses and enjoy a subscription to a leading daily business news paper, an official program email address and business cards. Fellows have access to several high profile events, conferences and closed door lectures throughout the year.
